How Milky Mama Grew from 31K to 180K Organic Clicks and Built a Consistent AI Presence

Milky Mama had strong products and a loyal audience, but limited organic reach. FlyRank built the content depth, topical authority, and technical structure to turn brand strength into search dominance — across Google and across AI.

About

Milky Mama

Milky Mama is a breastfeeding support brand selling lactation products, supplements, and resources for nursing mothers. Their audience is specific: new and expecting moms looking for trusted guidance on milk supply, feeding challenges, and postpartum wellness.

Breastfeeding mothers don't just search Google — they ask AI assistants late at night, between feeds, when they need quick and reliable answers. Organic growth today means being present in both places: ranking in search and being the source AI platforms point to when someone asks exactly the right question.

The Opportunity

Milky Mama before FlyRank.

When FlyRank started working with Milky Mama, the site had clear potential but limited organic reach. The previous six months showed 31.4K total clicks and 1.55M impressions. Average position sat at 11.9 — most pages on page two of Google: visible enough to earn impressions, but not close enough to drive real traffic.

The content gap was clear. Mothers searching for breastfeeding advice, lactation support, and feeding-related products represent a large, high-intent audience. Milky Mama had the products and the expertise. The site needed content depth and technical structure to match that expertise in search.

Organic search is the main way Milky Mama reaches mothers at the exact moment they need help. Ranking well in Google matters. But showing up in AI platforms like ChatGPT — where mothers increasingly ask personal questions late at night, between feeds — matters just as much.

What We Found

Our audit uncovered the specific friction points capping organic growth.

01

Previous six months showed 31.4K total clicks and 1.55M impressions with average position 11.9 — most pages on page two and missing the click-through threshold where purchases occur

02

Thin topic coverage across the core areas the audience searches: breastfeeding, lactation, pumping, and postpartum nutrition

03

No content cluster architecture to connect related pages — internal linking was absent between educational content and product pages

04

Minimal AI platform visibility — content was not structured in the format AI assistants extract and cite when answering personal health questions

What FlyRank Did

Content depth, structure, and AI visibility — all at once.

The work covered several areas simultaneously. We started with a full content and technical audit, identifying pages that needed stronger search intent alignment, thin or missing topic coverage, and structural gaps limiting crawl and indexation.

From there, we scaled content production significantly. Milky Mama's indexed page count grew from roughly 3,000 pages in early February 2026 to 10,800 pages by late April — a deliberate effort to cover the full range of queries the audience searches for, from informational topics around breastfeeding and lactation to product-led content targeting high-intent searches.

Alongside content expansion, we improved topical structure and internal linking. When pages connect around a central topic, Google understands the site's authority more clearly. For Milky Mama, this meant building clusters around core themes, so the site could rank across the full depth of each topic — not just isolated pages.

On-page optimization across existing content improved search intent alignment, heading structure, and content clarity. Well-structured, helpful content is also what AI platforms pull from when answering user questions — so these improvements served both channels.

Scaled Content Production

Produced thousands of new pages covering the full range of breastfeeding, lactation, pumping, newborn feeding, and postpartum nutrition queries. Indexed pages grew from 3K to 10.8K in three months.

AI Citation Optimization

Structured content with FAQ schema, answer formatting, and structured data to position Milky Mama as the source AI assistants cite for breastfeeding and lactation questions.

Existing Page Optimization

Audited and improved existing content for search intent alignment, heading structure, and content clarity. Re-indexed underperforming pages and improved average position from 11.9 to 5.6.

Topical Clusters

Built interconnected content clusters around milk supply, pumping, newborn feeding, and postpartum nutrition. Internal linking reinforced topical authority across all related pages.

Why It Worked

Scaled content production built the coverage needed to compete — growing indexed pages from 3K to 10.8K and capturing the full depth of breastfeeding and lactation queries

AI citation optimization positioned Milky Mama as the trusted source ChatGPT references when nursing mothers ask about milk supply and lactation

Intent alignment improvements across existing pages moved average position from 11.9 to 5.6, pushing Milky Mama onto page one for its most valuable queries

Topic clusters built interconnected authority across breastfeeding and postpartum content — ranking improvements on one page lifted the entire cluster

A Growth Story Still Moving

The indexed page count keeps growing. AI sessions are accelerating. The average position improvement to 5.6 means more pages are visible where clicks actually happen.

Milky Mama came into this work with strong products and a loyal audience. What FlyRank added was the content depth, structural foundation, and search clarity to turn that brand strength into organic reach — across Google and across AI.

The results are visible. And the trajectory is still pointing up.
